What We Believe
LAKE COUNTY REVIVAL 2007
What We Believe:
Respectfully, if you do not believe what we believe, we love you,
but for revival to take place, these are the bonds that must tie
us together:
1. We believe in the complete inspiration of the Word of God; God
breathed; God makes no errors; God IS the final authority; if God's
Word says something happened, then it literally happened.
2 Timothy 3:16-17-- (16) All scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be
perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2. We believe: Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Matthew 16:16-- And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art
the Christ, the Son of the living God.
3. We believe Jesus Christ came to earth by virgin birth.
Matthew 1:23- Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall
bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which
being interpreted is, God with us.
4. We believe in His death, burial, and resurrection.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4- (3) For I delivered unto you first
of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our
sins according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was buried, and
that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5. We believe: in the imminent return of Christ for the true body
of believers.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18- (13) But I would not have you to
be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye
sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. (14) For if we believe
that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in
Jesus will God bring with him. (15) For this we say unto you by
the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the
coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. (16)
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead
in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the
Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (18) Wherefore
comfort one another with these words.
6. We believe revival sessions are not the time to discuss doctrinal
differences.
Romans 12:18- If it be possible, as much as lieth in you,
live peaceably with all men.
7. We believe this revival session is the time to refrain from
the gift of tongues and prophecy.
1 Corinthians 14:14- For if I pray in an unknown tongue,
my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
8. We believe our revival meetings are for Christians to unite
and pray for revival; our revival meetings are not the function
of one single church or denomination.
1 Corinthians 14:11, 33- (11) Therefore if I know not the
meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian,
and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. (33) For God
is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches
of the saints.
9. We believe salvation is by grace through faith, and not of works.
It is a free gift from God.
Ephesians 2:8-9- (8) For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works,
lest any man should boast.
